My Transition year camping blog:
The most important thing I learnt on the camping trip was that nothing should keep me back to achieve the goals I want to. Even if it is a small bowl or it seems to be an on achievable going you should never stop reaching for them. You should fight until the end. The thing that challenged me most was to do the 22 km walk. It was quite hard and actually I do not like camping and walking. But nevertheless I had a lot of fun and it was a great adventure. It was actually really hard to get to know some other Irish people but with my self-confidence I improved on the camping trip everything was much more easier. I was very much surprised by the kindness of the Irish people and especially the teachers. They made finding new friends for me much easier than I expected. If I were to do the trip again I would make sure to bring more clothes with me to keep myself warm. Generally I would care a bit more about myself. As a result of this trip I will know for the future that I don't have to be shy in front of other people. I chose to participate in this activity because I wanted to get to know some Irish people. I already knew a lot of international students but I had the wish to be more acquainted with the Irish guys. And all in all it was the best possibility to meet the Irish guys I could ever imagine. During the camping trip I found the nights very difficult. It was really cold and even if I would have brought a lot of closes with me I would still feel frightened. This thought was relevant to me because I had the chance to reflect about myself and to actually think about things like this.
